Dh has quite a collection. Much of it inherited from family, but some new ones too. When I was choosing which rifle to get, I chose one I liked, but since I have access to his, I chose one that he didn't have.

My favorite gun is one that my husband keeps around just for me to use, and eventually to train our kids. An old bolt action Henry. It takes .22, but because I'm about the size of a kid, it works perfect for me and it's a very accurate gun. There's also something calming about the manual loading and sliding the bolt. I also like the low level of noise it makes. No louder than a black cat exploding. I shoot targets for relaxation, not for a rush, though.

Hubs has many long guns, I am a handgun kind of girl - I carry a Sig 938 Scorpion (love it) and I have a Colt 1911 and an FNX 9. He got me a .223 AR for our anniversary! I just got a scope for it, but thiink I may get a red dot as well. I put a quick change mount on it so I can switch easily. I really like to target shoot, keep in practice for the occasional raccoon or whatever.

My "local" shop has Model 60s for $120.

One more question, if I may? I've read that a 22 lr will take out a fox with a clean head shot, but it may not be legal due to the chance of injury to the animal. What's the smallest (and preferably common & affordable) round appropriate for a fox and maybe even coyote?
not sure of the laws where you live, but here i know people can dispatch coyotes and foxes with a .22lr in fact i will (but again i plan on trapping them so i will be with in feet of the animal) but i have heard many guys dispatch coyotes and all that with the .22 wmr in fact was watching some trappers talking about using them for lynx and fox that show up at range on the trap line, also read an article about a guy who prefers that round for rabbit hunting.

again i forgot but do you guys in the states still have your .22 ammo shortage's?

Yes 22s cartridges are hard to come by because everyone and their brother buys them up. But trapping amd hunting are two diffrent things shooting a moving animal at (and a small one at that) 100+ yards is a diffrent beast.

I have 600rounds for my savage 22lr, so im good for now. Also guy that wanted to trade thought hed get by with it but he brought a 710 not a 700adl like he said he was so i was nice and said ill keep my ruger im looking for something else.
And probably keep it in general its cutting holes (like mm's from going in the same hole at 75yrds) and im sure eventually the RAR aftermarket support will pick up a bit and the higher prices for those that do support them will start to level out with others.

Have you tried bulkammo.com? I buy pretty much all my ammo from them - by the case, I find the shipping is cheaper than paying state sales tax. We have gotten .22 from them also, I've never had a problem getting it from them.

.22 ammo is starting show in a few places in Mo. But most gets bought up very quickly. I've got about 2000 round set back.

We don't buy anything online. We shop local to help out local folks. Keeping small businesses open is tough here. Actually, we have bought a few things online, but it's only because we couldn't find it local.

I agree i buy locally 98% of the time and i never buy ammo online i keep my calibers manageable for reloading 22 is about the only thing i buy as far as ammo the rest are 38sp, 308, 243, 270 and possibly 300 UM here soon. But i can reload a box of 270 for around $11 and that is cheaper than any 270 worth a hoot and better than any on the market so if you can reload do it if you cant find a buddy who does and barter brass for rounds in any case its cheaper.

Ill buy the random accessory online for a gun on occasion.
