Gun legislation- anyone heard about this?

What is the 3 day wait for that is in effect now? When I bought my last 22 pistol I had to be fingerprinted, fill out a bunch of papers at the county sheriffs department, have a background check, heck I can't remember what else I had to do.

When I purchased a shotgun I had to fill out an application, wait 15 minutes for them to run it through the highway patrol and then I was out the door.

Grnated, the 11 year old boy did a very unjustifiable think by shooting his soon to be step mom. The underlying issues here are:

Why wasn't the gun locked up?

Why wasn't he taught the right way of handling and usage of the weapon and not given access to the shotgun until he "proved" himself as knowing such.

This is the real issue in this case, unresponsible parents, being allowed to purchase and handle firearms. The sad thing is that you would never be able to control stupidity, just as you would never be able to totally keep criminals from aquiring guns. Sad but true. Even sadder is that this affects all "proper" gun owners from enjying their right freely

Excuse me, but the underlying issue in a case like this has NOTHING to do with guns. Whether or not this woman's guns were locked up, her kid had a real problem. Probably would have grabbed a baseball bat or knife instead. Guns are not the criminals under ANY circumstances!!

Stupidity is not against the law!! She can leave her gun out if she wants to. She can leave her milk out and let it sour and drink it, too if she wants to. That is her prerogative.

Aren't you all familiar with our own great experiment??? Washington D.C. They made it illegal to own a gun there. Guess what happened??? The violent crime rate skyrocketed. Yes, violence WITH GUNS! Hello!!!! Take the guns from citizens and the criminals will have all the power. Duh!

As stated in earlier posts, gun laws do not affect criminals or their ability to obtain or use guns. The only thing gun control does is violate our rights, grow our government and INCREASE crime with guns. It's the 2nd Amendment!! If we can ignore that, then what else will our government take from us? You have to look at the big picture here!

This is a topic that really fires me up. And by the way, if any of these laws pass... I don't own any guns.

I have to dissagree. If this law or bill or whatever passes, WE wouldn't be able to have guns to protect us, but those 'wackos' would because of sneaky buisness. Then we wouldn't be able to defend ourself from those wackos, and they'd have a gun, and you can see where I'm going with this.

we should probably start buying bullets before they start requiring a license to buy them.Do I own a gun, yes, DO I know how to use said gun YES, Will I use said gun to protect what is mine YES, and do I keep it loaded yes, am i licensed Yes, what else do they need, they have my life on a computer somewhere now

Guns and cars aren't anywhere near the same thing.

According to this bill, they will have the right to invade your home to inspect your firearms. At what point does anyone from the government come to your home and inspect your vehicle?

A couple of years ago, kids were banging on people's doors in the middle of the night and when the homeowners answered in a sleepy state, the kids would beat them up and rob them. That wouldn't happen in my household. What recourse do innocent people have if deprived of the basic right to keep and bear arms?

Don't come to my house with any intent to harm me, my family, or my property. I can say that because of my right to bear arms. What would happen without that right?
