Gun Owners and Non-Gun Owners should come to a Meeting of the Minds

Oh, I've lived in the city, too - most of my life in fact, so I'm aware. I just hate being labeled.

And based on some of my views on social issues, I could NEVER call myself a conservative and get away with it (at least not here where I live) - independent or any other kind! I like to stick with just "independent".

Oh yes! I'll second that.

You'll never keep guns away from criminals. Law abiding citizens *and that being the vast majority* who shoot, will do so to protect their family and one's self.

A drunk doesn't care ~ I have a friend whose wife and kids were riding their horses along the country road where they lived. A drunk neighbor ran off the road killing the wife and horse. The children watched their mother die.

"You have a right to a gun and I own it to protect myself" Sounds like someone who want to shoot for no reason?

At the risk of starting an argument, (which I really dont want to do...) This is very funny to me. Maybe I am farther off in the boondocks then I thought, but this sounds like a very normal thing to say to me!

I guess maybe if stating the truth in simple terms makes one sound like a redneck, I cannot fathom a better thing to be!

And there is never 'no reason' to shoot things... like you said, skeet shooting is fun. It is also a legitimate sport, develops coordination, increases efficiency and accuracy, and everytime you pick up a gun to practice shooting, you become safer with it, more competent, and better equiped to use it in the event you really do need to defend yourself someday.

And exacly the same thing goes for every other type of shooting, whether you are varmint hunting, deer hunting, target shooting on a range somewhere, or shooting old beer bottles off a log.

Thank you warmfuzzies, I couldn't have said it better. I Probably would have started an argument, lol.

Guess I'm a redneck girl, lol. Oh and proud of it!

I never gave a thought to owing a gun....until now, every night something keeps getting into my run or trying to. The chickens are safely in the coop, but I have seen pics of preditors chewing through the wood to get to them. My DH is going to fix the run even better soon, but I am one that doesn't want any chicken disasters.

I support your right to own a gun or two (or three). I don't understand how regulation will hurt people with a few guns. I don't.

The only people that I know, personally, that are worked up about losing their guns are wack-a-doos that have 10 or 20!

I'm a sane man and I have at least 20 guns. some for target practice, most for hunting and some for personal protection. I don't understand how you can make a blanket judgment call about a person based on how many guns they own.
hmm.png
Also I have friends that only own one gun and they also get worked up over people trying to take away their rights. Whats next freedom of speech.
