Guns!

I live in Arizona so I can pretty much carry hidden or not, with or without ccw. My daily carry is a Glock .40 that my dear old daddy gave me one Christmas with a S&W .38 on the ankle as a backup. My fave right now, since the lion was in my backyard, is my public defender. Its a small size Judge, made for a girls hands. I loaded it with 410 shells in case that **** little cat comes back! You know, its very hard to wear a dress and sandals and carry at the same time. So much for dresses and sandals huh ladies?

if i were to have it concealed, I would keep it in my boot, Smith and Wesson is the best. I would not consider a revolver due to its action, the hammer being in the way, and how long it takes to reload, double action is what I love.

For shotgun owners, do you prefer Remington or Mossberg? I've shot 12 ga in both (a friend brought us to the range) but the stock on both of his were way too long for me (he's well over a foot taller than I am). I have a shoulder injury (left side, I shoot on my right, but it's a bone spur, so it gets to aching after awhile when at the range). I like the idea of not worrying about rust on the 887, but my primary concern is being able to chase off/take out varmints. I must admit, the Mossberg always piques my interest in terms of aesthetics, but it seems like it's more ideal for tactical assault type situations? So, looking badass and being ideal for me to protect our critters may not be mutual goals. Thoughts?

This kinda sets my heart a-flutter.

I have one of those..(and a few others)...it's loaded primarily for home defense, but it's fun to shoot!

Remington has a 20 ga youth autoloader that often gets a tempting sale price at Dicks. Keep an eye on the sale flyers and you might be surprised. Plus youth guns show up used when their owners grow older. Great for us petite gals.

Awesome gun! If you can find the 1100, which they no longer make, get one used. I've been hunting with this gun for 30 yrs, it's been reliable and a great hunting shotgun. The short stock makes it easy to bring up if you have extra clothes on and, it's easier to move about the woods/brush. Though it's smaller, it still has great stopping power and is very accurate.

I like older guns also. 870 Remington has to be the best 12 ga ever built.Mossberg 500 right behind it. I have a mossberg 500 home defense model next to the bed. Someone stated that it would be difficult to shoot with the recoil going into your hand. Borrow one and try it. When you're concerned with your life and the welfare of your family when you have an intruder in the house you don't care where the recoil's going, just the lead. Keep the pics coming. I'll get some of my hand guns out and take pics and the long guns too.

Exactly! The adrenaline alone will counter any recoil!

With all the discussion about coyotes, and raccoons, and blowing away various predators, I thought we could have a thread for showing off/discussing GUNS!

Let's see your noisemakers.

Here's a few of mine.. I like my guns old and cheap.
