A tiny bit isn't enough to treat shock. First dip his beak in the sweet solution a few times to entice him to drink. If he doesn't, then he's too weak to drink on his own. You will need to syringe it into him. Or tubing it into the crop is much better. Do it like this photo shows.

Check again carefully his entire neck, throat and body for any injuries.
It is easy to overlook incisions made by the canines with all the plumage.

Do not bathe him again as this might lead to water entering lungs or air sacs in case they have been punctured .

I washed out the wound and put iodine on it, I've gone out and bought a cream which I'll put on

Does he have a lot of blood inside his beak?

I agree, give him drops of water to see if that helps work him through shock.

You bathed him? Did you submerge him in the epsom salts bath?
Was he dirty/soiled or what was the reason for the bath?

Did you dry him with a hair dryer? If he's still wet, then use a hair dryer on low and gently dry him.

His breathing "improves" if you massage the crop? Can you feel the "crop"? Where? Where do you feel the crop.

First image is of the air sacs located on a bird. Study the photo for the locations, there are 2 of each (1 on each side) except for the Interclavicular Sac (only 1).
Do you feel anything like an Air Bubble under the skin near those locations?

Second Image. Location of internals. See where the crop is located. Is it the crop you feel and lift/massage that improves the gurgling?

Thank you all for your help. He seemed to be perking up a bit but was still gurgling but then he had a seizure and died yesterday morning. He'd been through an awful lot and had survived multiple attacks. I'm just glad he was inside with is when it happened.
