Guys and gals... MY NEIGHBOR IS CRAZY!!!! She's the real predator!

Pics
Hawks are protected. You can't put them down, if so you can go to jail. My guess would be that if she knew you did this or saw this she would probably call the police because you hurt one of her friends. Who is taking care of the chickens then?
She better have proof. Obey the law kids. But when animals cause harm to you or your means of living a different line is drawn. But always follow the law and local ordinance lol
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

also they're my ESA and I'm very poor so I appreciate the eggs they lay and they're much needed because I end up eating them for quite awhile when I don't have money for food lol combined those two and I get a little sensitive when it comes to their safety

She most likely will. My guess would be that if she is truly that lonely, she is watching everything. Maybe writing about it or taking pictures. So you never know when that video is rolling or the camera is clicking. You also don't know how far she will go to protect what she loves, much like you are doing. You love your chickens and she loves her Hawks and oppossums. Definitely two different worlds.

Don't forget the rats, and the roaches

Ugh I was about to rant really hard but I didn't feel like anyone would want to read what I had to say so I'll shorten it with less complaining lol... All I'm gonna say is I don't know who in the world would actually believe predatory animals are your friends :l No hawk thinks hahhaha I'm gonna land on this human because she has her arm out that's I'm probably going to tear up anyway yeah let's be friends lady :D No that hawk was trying to eat my chickens and I believe she was creating a welcoming environment for the hawk and making it think that it was okay to eat my chickens no one would protect them. It was trying to land and was maybe a few feet from the ground. It wasn't til I came out and starred at the hawk with my menacing chicken protector face it bailed out of it's land. I don't know if she was trying to throw it food or what she was doing but It's both annoying and very SAD that she actually thinks the hawk cared about her enough to land for her. I put down ANY and all predators. I told her if she encourages the hawks to land there I'm going to do the same thing I did to the possum when she came out that one night lol... She came outside and saw me.... Putting down a possum that attacked my chickens. I would do the same thing to the hawk. And I know someone is going to be like urr it's nature it's nature. But again my chickens have the right to live as well and it's nature for animals to protect animals so why can't I protect my chickens without judgement. I FEEL BAD FOR HER AT A DISTANCE. I have my own problems equally or maybe even worse that she probably has no idea about so again I UNDERSTAND how she feels but STILL.

Also predators know what happens around here. View attachment 1605985

Dogs and cats are predatory animals and they make wonderful pets, just saying. There's nothing wrong with a person enjoying wildlife, even predators, I know I certainly do.

OP - I agree that having your chickens come when called is optimal, I started when mine were only a couple weeks old. I said "yummies" every time I wanted them to come for food or treats. Iif they are in the back pen or compost pile they will come running (most of them, except one dumb Maran). Try coming up with a word and saying it or a certain treat jar that you can shake or whatever, that is probably your best bet! Good luck with your neighbor!
