My concern is that if he's bold enough to walk right into your yard to steal (knowing that you'd recognize your own neighbor), what else is he capable of. Be vigilant and call the authorities immediately if he comes back around. So much for good fences make great neighbors. Nobody respects boundaries anymore.

I will call 911 right away and then call landlord, who is about 150 feet away.

If he’s a alcoholic it’s best if you let the police (or landlord) handle it. Some drunken people get violent.
If/when you call the police have him officially trespassed from your property. Drunk or not they have a reason to arrest him if he violates the trespassing order. Best wishes

I would love to see this jerk locked up... on a side note ... I have dealt with Racoons that I swear could undo a padlock lol. I got to where i made doors that were too heavy to open for a Raccoon to open.

I won't deal with him. Let proper authorities deal with him. I have no problems pressing charges. Doubt if he will come near now, security cameras up and working.

Would love to see that. How he gets away with being under the influence is beyond belief. We have even called it in, was all over the driveway and hit the fence. They still didn't catch him.

Yeah, we recently had someone shoot up a shopping center, police arrived and found about 20 people running away from the scene with guns drawn, they shot and killed one that they thought was the shooter, turns out he was just one of the many people that was carrying a gun and decided to pull it out when shots were fired... No one even thinks about the fact that if police are called due to an active shooter that they will assume that anyone with a gun that is running away from the crime is the one that did it.... So, now we have a presumably innocent dead guy and a shooter on the loose because cops stopped looking for him for a few days and the trail got cold.
