Had a rough day ... thanks for the verbal hugs!!

This is so great! I actually could go outside without gloves... skin was showing (my face!) LOL!
I still had to bring in another duck this morning... this is getting ridiculous. I just keep playing musical kennels.

But on the bright side, I booted some of the older chicks out to the coop, turned off the heat lamp, and

the birds stayed outside! I am SO not looking forward to cleaning the coop when it thaws...

What age were the older chicks you kicked outside? I have a bunch of 9-10 week olds (the scalpers) that really need to go outside but I've been hesitant. Wasn't sure if they could withstand nights in the 20's.

I hear you about the coops when it thaws. I get to deal with that constantly due to all our rain. The ground in the coop tonight was squishy - so gross! I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

The Ameraucanas are just under 14 weeks old. I had them out there when they were 10 weeks old, but brought several of them inside when we stayed so low. Some have been out there the whole time with the big birds. I just pulled in the ones that looked like they were having a hard time staying warm, and one actually got frostbitten toes. Not sure how, but she did.

I think she'll be ok, though. Here's some photos... I'd love to know what the actual colors are called. Guess I need to do some research...

Awww, Tori, those photos are great! What beautiful birds! I have no idea of the coloring, but they sure are pretty.

And your bun is beautiful. We had a sweet mini rex named Cadbury. She was a doll, but sadly we lost her a couple years ago to an impacted hairball. Our other two bunnies won't let us hold them like that. I sure wish they would. My little boy is a wild hare (pun intended!) and he will only let us pet him for a minute and then he zips away. I think it's a game for him. The other bun is sweet and would probably let us hold her more, but she's young and busy and there's too much to see!

Yeah, well, I am usually behind the camera. I'm loving the little turd-maker.

Hubby raises the bunnies for the poopies to feed to his compost worms. He insisted that he didn't have room for Cadbury, and I insisted he did! Tell your son that he is very spoiled.

Thor is doing great, though he doesn't poop nearly as much as Cadbury! The boys spoil him like crazy. I can't wait for spring so we can let him do is job and get it on with the ladies!!

We thought Cadbury's ears were nocked for identifications... we didn't realize it was from a chewing!

It's ok... doesn't detract one bit from his cuteness.

30°F (+!) and RAINING... It's 65°F warmer than it was a week ago. Talk about crazy weather...

...and this morning it's 33F and calling for rain through this weekend... sheesh. I just can't win.

Time to go muck out the coops already.
