Amen!

As I was reading through your forecast all I could think was "someone needs to fire the guy that types these reports!"

The best one though, was the time I was listening to the radio weather report (I don't do that often). It had been pouring for hours and the forecaster said "small chance of rain showers today" - ya think???

I knew it was getting back when I went home at lunch today and the ducks were trying to stay out of all the water!!!

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

+34F in North Pole right now!!! Luv got her warmer temps!!!

"Not to complain, or anything like that......." Lol!!! Yeah, we sure warmed up! Everything is melting, the roads are slicker than you know what! And to top it off, there's a possibility of rain! (It's better than _45F. It's better than _45F. It's better than _45F.!!!

What a winter to remember whether you live in the arctic, or the weather is trying to fake it!

We just might lose our snow as well, Tori, not that there was that much to begin with!!!

Could hardly stand to look at the picture of Cadbury!! It was sooo hard to get rid of Theo my little bunnyboy!!! I still get tears in my eyes just thinking of it!! They can be so sweet!!!

Ugh I thought WE were cold here at -25! So far my birds are ok but the winds are coming in and were having some strong winds tonight and tomorrow. Birds have to say in. I sure hope your baby is ok! Poor thing
sad.png
Hugs to you and to him! Good luck and stay bundled up. I just got in from the shed and this weather is just WRONG! I'm hoping the wood stove keeps the cages I have out there warm till morning.

Hang in there, Hangin.

(It's late and the pun spoke to me!)

On a serious note - keep 'em all warm and we'll start doing our rain dance for you. With any luck it will all move your way!!! LOL - not sure if that would be a blessing or a curse. Tori and I are still trying to figure that out!

Am I ever.
hmm.png
On the one hand, I don't have to worry about frozen water or eggs. Or birds. And I can turn off all the heat lamps. But on the other hand, all the eggs are muddy or poopy (because its all thawed out) all the buildings are dripping from all the melting frost/snow/ice, and now the snow has been packed down to sheet-ice.
barnie.gif
Areas of Anchorage have been shut down due to the weather, and now they're expecting 105 mph winds (cat 2/3 hurricane force!)

I've been in Anchorage with that kind of wind- tons of semi-trucks jackknifed, fallen over, it was horrifying to say the least!!!
Well, we've already had some rain today, I had to go into Fairbanks 3 times today (because my son was working on the "simple" hose fix on the van
lol.png
) and on the way home at 7:00 p.m. it was lightly raining!!
sad.png
And to top it all off, I still have to drive back in to Fairbanks tonight to pick up hubby from work. He doesn't even know for sure what time, it could be 1:00 a.m. 2:00 or even 3:00 a.m.
barnie.gif
We didn't dare use the pick-up today, even though it is four wheel drive and has 300 lbs. of sand bags in the back for weight-it's toooooo slippery out to be driving it, even with snow tires on.

How's everybody else doing, have you managed to avoid the slippery roads with all the rain? You all stay safe and sound!!!

Anchorage is shut down again this morning... only one elementary school in the Valley is operational this morning, if the reports are accurate. 44°F and very icy roads. Hubby said it wasn't bad yesterday morning, but by last night things were getting dicey. I didn't hear any sirens (over the sound of the rain pounding down)
hmm.png
It's 39°F this morning here, light breezes... we never got the high winds that they were calling for. 17-20 mph was the most my weather station ever clocked, though I bet if I put the probe another 50' in the air it would have read differently. Our house is sheltered in a little cove of very tall trees. I have to drive to town this afternoon, and you can bet I'm going to be careful!! I don't have studs, and only have a cooler of sand in the bed of my little pick-em-up.

Thanks for the hugs, scrambled!!

Good morning, all!

It's 37 degrees here this morning and still raining (although I think it let up for about 5 minutes last night). The good news is that we have had so much rain that most of the ice is gone.

You all be very, very, very careful out there. That stuff is deadly.

I want to know why they cancel school in Anchorage but not here with that kind of weather.
rant.gif
No school would equal no work and I could get on board with an extra day off!

Tori, we finally had to go out last night and trench the coop so the water would drain off. It had rained so much that the normal drainage couldn't keep up. Luckily our ground isn't quite as frozen as yours and hubbie has a pick-ax. Poor hens were getting their tootsies wet!
