Had eye surgery-no painkillers given

My light sussex has just had her eye taken out at the vets. She has been given antibiotics (Denegard) but nothing for pain.
I know chickens process pain differently but her tail and wing feathers are down, she is panting and her feet and face are very hot.
She is obviously distressed but is this because she cannot process the fact of only seeing on one side, is it a slight infection that the denegard will sort out or does she need some kind of painkiller?

Call the vet and tell him your chicken is in pain. Yes, they do feel pain, and having one's eye removed is painful. Since your vet removed the eye, he/she should have sources in which to find pain medication for chickens. Yes, there are pain meds for chickens. I've used them on my own birds, but since I'm not a veterinarian, I can't prescribe prescription meds.
