Please don't leave BYC because a few people got upset over what you did. Everyone can have an opinion, but some need to be a little tactful. You did what you felt you had to do. I doubt the hen will suffer----you took her back to her original home, after all. It's better than just locking her out of the coop one night and letting a coon or something get her. I understand you didn't want sympathy, but I do feel sorry that you had to make such a decision----I had to get rid of some roos because other roos were picking relentlessly on them, and I took them to a co-workers farm, and he put them in their own cage----for acclimating them to the flock, and eventually gave them a pen and some hens of their own. Hope your other 2 hens are doing well----at least you did something.
