First let me say, I have no affiliation with this company.

We ordered 25 pullets in 9 different breeds (everything listed in my signature except the americaunas and the marans) at Mcmurrayhatchery.com

We received 27 live chicks (none died in shipping!) even though they were in Iowa and we are in Ohio, and they were shipped over memorial day weekend.

All were very healthy, except one. It was missing part of it's leg and couldn't walk. It was very weak, and much smaller than the other chicks. My husband "took care of" that one. It was sooo sad, and I really wish they hadn't shipped it to us. In their defense, they did send along another chick (this was in addition to the free exotic chick).

Then, we had one accident with one that was completely our fault (someone accidentally put the waterer down on top of it, the poor thing).

And now that they are 27 weeks old, we have 24 HENS!!!

The only rooster in the bunch was the free exotic chick they sent (it was obviously going to be a rooster)!

I think those are fantastic odds! They say to expect to lose 10% lost in shipping, and 10% to turn out to be roosters. As far as we can tell, all of the pullets ordered were hens.

Hope this helps anyone considering an order. :)

I also have had great luck with their chickens.I have ordered twice from them and both times I have gotten outstanding chickens as well as service.I done some e-mailing with them during one of the transactions and they were great to deal with.As it is I will place my next order with them.Only way I foresee not is I'm wanting a particular chick and they don't have it. I also am not affiliated with this company, only as a patron.

I had good experience with them also. I only ordered from them once last April and all mine came in good shape compared to other places i ordered from, (think I got around 52-55 chicks in total from MM). I would order from them again, but this time I want to focus on 1 breed so I'm getting them from a breeder. If I need meat chickens or egg layers then MM will be my 1st choice again.
