Haha! I made my mom and hubby try a boiled quail egg!

Hehe my kids love em !! I had to force my hubby to try a hard boiled quail egg. I dont know why but he always goes eww. Yet my brother in law always wants quail eggs. He loves them. My little girl makes sandwiches out of them like you would a egg salad. I get tons of eggs a day from my girls so we are kept in eggs to eat in quail , duck and chicken

Pickled eggs are one of the main reasons I want to get quail. I love pickled eggs, I buy banty eggs from a farmer here just to pickle them. Mustard and garlic and onions and dill...... so good. I wonder if quail eggs would pickle faster since they are smaller?

My DH has already informed me he will have nothing to do with the quail. He won't help me kill them, he won't eat them, or their eggs. Oh well, more for me. He'll come around eventually.

My hubby was very leery about trying our home grown stuff!

The first was the goat milk, we had goat milk even before the chickens started laying. For a while he didn't touch it, but my husband LOVES milk so I was patient, and bought some cookies. Sure enough, it disappeared and he had his milk mug out!

He didn't hesitate when it came to the chicken eggs, though he was highly amused by the green EE eggs!

A bit leery about the quail eggs, but I fried the first two we ever got up and he ate one without argument.

Now he's addicted to pickled eggs! He even whines for me to make them from chicken eggs if there's not enough quail eggs.

I just started an egg carton in the fridge for quail eggs. When we get enough I'm going to boil them up. The way I see it, eggs are eggs. If they come from a bird they're edible (although I've heard duck eggs taste kind of "pond-y").

Dh has already had fried ostrich egg -- just one! LOL -- so I don't foresee any problems with him.
