No offense taken, I hope you don't take offense if I say that I'm more concerned about what is happening here in the US and all of the people who need help here. I feel very badly for other countries but it's time we gave a helping hand to our own citizens first.

No I did not forget. One of our docs was in haiti when the quake happened and spent five days there before we knew if he was alright. The pics he brought back are unreal compared to what you saw on tv. May god bless these people. He is going back in may and I with many other nurses have volunteered to go on a nursing mission for 2 weeks. My dh is not thrilled but I've always wanted to do this, and wish I could have left to go on a trip in january. Right now there is not only poverty and starvation there is disease and many medical personal is needed.

My question is - What of Chile? Chile has been hammered by 6 and above earthquakes for weeks now. . . And not many people care. Infact, they just care about the Tsunami that may hit Hawaii.

But really, I think by now most of our focus should be on our own country. . . For example, I would HATE to see something like the lack of effort put into a disaster like Katrina/New Orleans again.

When the Tsunami hit Sri Lanka, there was greif and help in an instant. . . When the hurricane hit New Orleans . . . There was nothing for 3 days. And finally after that it was slow and very little.
