Not much people know much about the breed. So i though that i'd just tell you all what i know about them will have pics soon after i pick my chickens up. Also will be getting a roo. ( 2 hens and a roo)
The haitian plumed was taken from a european game variety chicken's stock in the mid 1800s to the republic of haiti. It was selectively bread with a variety of japanes ornamental birds and mixed olden time bantam breeds. Its is a medium producer of cream to light brownish eggs. The breed was used in a few farms in haiti since the 1920's and are verry rare and are basicaly not used anymore. However a friend of mine owns a farm and one of his workers who is a haitian brought back 3 hens and a young roo and set them on my friends farm to nfree range now there are nearly 35 birds on the farm and i'll be getting 3 hens and a roo soon as i said. And i hope in the future to beable to send viable hatching eggs to some of the folks on this forum to raise and grow this rare breed.
Got this info from the source . Well the sources sources sorce actualy. But it is the truth . Will make a page for it in the breeds section lter.
