Half-broody?

How do you give them food and water in the breaker crate? This is the type of waterer we use for them in the run.

I just carefully open the door and give them food and water. Mine were in a mesh garden wagon that hubby built a hoop over. My chickens don't like to be handled, so generally they would get as far away from me as possible. Made it a bit easier to put in food and water. I used a regular hanging feeder, and a small rubber livestock bowl for water. Worked fine.

I just break out my chick brooding stuff - a chick sized waterer (I use the mason jar types) and chick feeder (minus the top cover) work just fine for 1 hen. If you don't have any of those available, raid your kitchen: you can use ramekins, small measuring or prep bowls, ice cream bowls.
