Half call,half silkie ducks

If the mating results in a chick ..it would more than likely be sterile ...
Actually the person meant a silky duck crossed with a call duck. A silky duck is a bantam breed of duck that I hadn’t heard of until now.

If your female doesn't carry the silkie gene, then the offspring will have normal feathers (but will carry the silkie gene).
I have hatched several of these over the years. They tend to be slightly larger in size, have longer bills (like the silkies). Some are more tame but others tend to take on the timid nature of the silkie ducks

Are you saying you have hatched a half silkie, half call duck? And my female is the silkie which is a heterogeneous so her feathers aren't very silky. My call duck male is white.

They cannot have silkie feathers unless they get a copy of the silkie gene from BOTH parents.
So they are half silkie half call as far as genetics go. But they have normal feathering. They carry the silkie gene if 1 parent is silkied, so can produce silkied offspring IF bred to a silkie or silkie carrier
