I use a thermometer that you can drop in a prob and then read everything feom outside the incubator so you don't have to open it till putting in the egg turner and eggs i test mine with the egg turner jn because it dose raise the temp to

a traceable thermometer is a calibrated thermometer whose indications are traceable to NIST. I got mine on fleabay for about the same cost as a standard one. This is what I go by only, I have a Grumback incubator and its foolproof for hatching.

The one I got was fischer scientific and used, but I've never had any temperature problems. Most Ive seen come with a cord for remote use, and if your in doubt test it with the ice bath and water boil test. This is the one that I calibrate my other thermometers with.

Update Y’all! Introducing Pattie and Peep-peep. Both were assisted shrink wrapped chickies. Also introducing my new incubator because I needed something simpler. With the Silverudds Blå eggs!
