Half of the Flock Gone, Now I Have Depressed Chickens. Help Please

Okay, I will give scrambled eggs to them. Do you think mixing sliced green apples is also a good idea? They love scrambled eggs and green apples, would mixing them up cheer them up more?
Assuming they have grit available, apple might add interest.
You're likely a little blue from the loss as well, so remember to enjoy your chickens when you treat them!

I know, I feel bad for them too. I miss the chickens that were killed and it hurts, and they are like family to my chickens, they were raised together as chicks.
The chikens was used to any soup or something like that? Well, there is one rule - when i want to eat any chikens, i make this "work" in a special place, and NEVER in chiken shed. I have the same rules for another bird, goats, etc. I have a special separate barn (slaughterhouse), where I carry out this work and access to foreign animals and birds there is always closed. The bird remaining to live in the chicken coop absolutely does not need to watch such scenes.

I did not kill them. My parents dragged the chickens off to a person that would kill them, skin them, clean them, ect. None of my chickens saw that. I did not even chase the chickens to put them in the crate that we were using to bring them there. The chickens walked up to me and let me pick them up. (this really hurt me, I wish that they didn't trust me so much)

Oh wow!! I totally misunderstood what you said. So he prepared them right in front of their friends 😭 I wouldn’t do that in front of their flock peers but if it was a random rooster or hen they didn’t really get along with anyway then I wouldn’t care so much.

No wonder they’re extra sad. They probably think they’re next and are trying to get away from all humans.

Some people prefer to slaughter away from those left. I know I do. Others are comfortable doing it within sight. Do what works.
Last flock that I had, my siblings would kill the meat chickens and "show it off" to the live chickens (I hated this), the chickens did not take that with a grain of salt, it made the chickens hostile to us and even towards each other.

Grocery chickens live a miserable life. Homegrown live well, with a quick merciful end. Grieve, but don't feel too guilty.

That’s so mean. I let my kids know real quick it’s not okay to ever be mean to animals.
