I have one than looks kind of like him if anyone wants him lol unfortunately he will be headed to the freezer otherwise BC we have too many boys. He's good to the ladies so I hate to send him to freezer camp

I'm new in learning about heritage breeds as well. I had no idea there were blue egg laying chickens until last year....lol!
And every time I come on here I learn new something new about turkeys and ducks and chickens and goats and dogs and bunnies. It's just fantastic!

(And who knew regular thermometers were so inaccurate? Like, wow!!! Something else I learned)

I like your thinking about learning about the heritage breeds and doing right by them.

Sometimes that green paper stuff gets in the way of good decision making and in the end it's the breed that suffers.

My dear little Flash.

I had 8 babies hatch. All done. Pretty excited for some good layers to start this winter. Aussies and leghorns. I am pretty sure I got a couple of pullets in the leghorns. You can really see the difference in those combs!

That's fantastic! I look forward to hearing about them!

Me too! But mine's NOT going to freezer camp. He's staying in Camp Coop...
