I hope she starts laying soon. House chicken?I am trying to wait for the SPR to lay her first few eggs (hopefully next week) and then set some. All the cute pictures is tempting me to set three now, and have a house chicken or two.![]()

My seriously domesticated diaper wearing house duck, Winter, I hatched on April 19th last year is having her very first brood of babies due October 21st! And the daddy, Cal, is her mate I hatched from @TJChickens March 17th this year! Saying I'm excited is an understatement! Today was *day 10* and she has 7 babies growing under her! Love my Call ducks!

I just set 14 eggs last night, so hopefully they will make their arrival just before Halloween! A dozen were shipped from Victoria- 6 Salmon Favorelles and 6 Black Copper Marans. I added two "control" eggs from my Isa Brown hens. Hopefully this hatch will go ok, its the 3rd time in this incubator and each time my hatch rates are improving as I get better and manipulating the incubator. Just a bit nervous as my first hatch was with shipped eggs and hatch rate was pretty poor.
My poor little silkie needs the other egg to hatch. She's lonely
my daughter donated a stuffed animal. Not sure what the kids did to it's eye though. LOL but it will work! It was on it's last leg anyways (the stuffed animal, not the chick.)
Also, baby chick didn't know what to think about my costume I made, which was bigger than the chick. LOL
This morning I set, 18 Seramas, 12 OE, 8 BCM, and 6 BCM over BR (Very large eggs)
Thanks @Sally Sunshine
Sally, why isn't the other egg hatching

it could be a malposition, they are either the first to pip or the last to dis sweetie.
I am not sure, is it pipped? internally externally? can you see yolk yellow in there at candle if you move candler around? I dont assist mals at the end most times they croak anyways. Respiratory systems get all screwed up
It just seemed a few days behind the other baby. the veins are still growing, it wasn't fully filled out in the egg. It hadn't turned towards the egg sac yet. How is it possible it's not as developed? Like, day 18, chick 1 that hatched, filled out entire egg. No visible veins, etc.it could be a malposition, they are either the first to pip or the last to dis sweetie.

This one, is still growing and filling the egg out, as of this morning. It's still alive, and the egg is slowly progressing, but I don't know if that means it's not viable.
