Day 18, my little army is due to hatch on Halloween

Hi Cynthia have you seen the adult birds on the NN. Did they have bows or completely NN

Yes, the person I bought from was good to explain how they were hatching, they were getting over 80% NN's. So, I do realize that I could end up with all 6 being non NN. The photos of the ones they showed were darling...nice big bow ties..which I love. So, I now have another pip.

I'll see if I can get a photo of their babies.

Here is the photo. I love their little hats. I've had a few NN's .. and right now I have a smoothe SG. She's a mama right now. A real good mom.

We have fluffy butts! Noticed the first pip last night at 9:00 and by 3:00am they were out and running! Kind of disapointed they hatched hatch so fast that I missed it all lol

They're coming out from under the old vestibule.
On the plus side, we know there won't be any skunks or rats under there with the bunnies being there.
I'm still wondering if the bunnies are pushing the rats back. They're certainly not afraid to chase a chicken to get the grain...lol.

Just candled my newer Trader Joes egg's and on day 6, 6 are developing nicely. Soooo excited

Rabbits are actually more likely to attract rats than push them back, you are going to want to be VERY careful with those babies around them, I had an entire litter savaged by rats when the neighbours got rid of their birds, and they ran out of food there...

oh wow!! interesting and that sucks

Had to make an emergency air hole for the last viable chick. 24 hours since first hatch was completed, and the chick has been banging away at the shell for the last 12 hours and still hadn't managed anything. Hopefully it will manage to finish hatching on it's own.

Blood vessels are receding rapidly. Should be able to finish hatching on it's own. I'm keeping the humidity up at about 80, just in case.

Boy, these two babies pipped, zipped and were out within this afternoon, early evening...two black chicks so far. NOT NN's.

4 more chances to go. No pips on those yet, but have seen two wriggle. Tomorrow is the due date.

Next lockdown isn't till Tuesday. By the time the next ones start hatching, these little ones should know exactly what to teach the new babies.
