Ok, all you broody experts: Wrold has hatched her chick; the excess eggs have been removed but the silly girl is running round with her chick still acting broody. She is bokking away, fluffed up like a dandelion head & tossing bits of straw over her back. Has never happened before. Should I worry about her?

She should take the chick out of the nest a few days after the hatch and show her the food and water. Lay bits of food before the chick.
Mine always started to scratch for tiny worms in the soil for the chicks too.

Yes, she's done all that. They've been out of the coop in the run. All that is normal. She's doing all the mum things while still acting broody. I know my girls are nutters but this is a whole new level of nuts.

There isn't much point in worrying about it because there isn't really anything you can do about it. If she's strange, she's strange. As long as she's taking care of her chick, if she happens to behave like a complete nutter in the process take pictures/videos.
It isn't that unusual for hens to take a while for the broody switch to switch off. I would let her get on with it.

Thanks, Shad. I don't care so long as her behaviour isn't detrimental to her or her chick.

Tassels did that for at least a month and now as the chicks are almost 3 months old will still sometimes revert to that mode.
She didn’t do the straw in back thing - she only does that when she lays an egg (which she rarely does) but the fluffed up and the broody bokking went on for weeks!

Just to add - I didn’t know what normal looked like so I just assumed she knew what she was doing. Everyone seemed happy and the chicks grew like weeds.
I think she is just a very protective mother and is defending her ‘nest of babies’ even though her nest is now very mobile and rather large!
