Long story short, I dont know! They were not from my hens, because I had a nasty roo who's genes I didnt want passed along. I asked for help from the Pennsylvania board, and had a woman offer me eggs. Any hatched hens will be olive/blue egg layers.

Too bad on the roo. Hoping for a good hatch for you. I have 10 eggs under a broody due Wednesday so they don't count for the Hal. I'll have to start some more soon.

How many did you start with, i'm ordering shipped silkie eggs and am trying to get 2 dozen, hoping to get at least 8-10 for hatch.

I already have a buyer for any extras I end up getting, and then a waiting list for any other silkies I hatch after that lol

I had 8 in my incubator to start with for my first try, and only 3 made it to day 10, and one of them might end up with a blood ring, and i'll be down to 2, so I'm not sure i'll even make it to lock down at this rate.

This is one of my worst ones with shipping..the leghorns..she sent me 18. The Australorp, not too bad, sent me 12..so half of those are going into lock down. The air cells are pretty decent there..so, should do ok. Not on the leghorns though. I really want a couple of pullets so I can have some start laying in Feb. or March.

Hope you have a good mama hen there, it really is fun to watch them with their babies. Good luck! I like the thought of blue eggs!

I have eggs in lock down right now.  Man, the air cells were bad..(shipped) this time.  Leghorn's were the worst, also have some Australorp eggs in.  Going to have me some new egg layers probably by Feb/March.     I better get some girls out of these!  Only 6 each made it to lock down.

yikes makes sense. well, i'm hoping if I get 24 eggs, I'll get at least 6-10 hatchlings?
