HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

@Sally Sunshine , Yup , I am from PA as well, I was sent from the PA board by @motercyclechick when I was talking about my broody.

I tried candling, again this is all new, last night. On the light colored egg I can see veining, VERY EXCITING!!! Is it normal that I am having a hard time even seeing through the shells on the blue hnd olive eggs??? I anxious to know how many my eggs are on their way to hatching!

yes its completely normal not to see in.... Try your cell phone flashlight ap, sometimes I have better luck than my mass lumans flashlight!! I think because the beam is small or something!

Day 12: I am so anxious, also worried that none will hatch. I know 3 are absolutely not fertile so that brings me down to 5 eggs. :/.
On top of all that it is raining and pouring and my silkie hen just went broody.

I am glad you have a broody!!! are you going to give her your eggs you have set? or let her try some of her own?
 
She has some of her own already, I thought about it but she is so tiny I don't know how many she can handle. I didn't even give her the eggs she is on, she just up and took them!! Maybe if I get some hatched I should try to get her to adopt them? Also, do you think I should take out the three eggs that are just yolk? They don't stink, but all I see when I candle is yolk floating around. Like I said I'm on day 12 already

from those notes are the following.... see if they can help. day 12 is still iffy if you cant see well with light..... sniff test!! it will tell you if you got a bomb lol
