have faith!!
I'm going too.

I am going to be moving the ducks to the dog crate, and steal my brooder back for the new babies.

So, my seriously domesticated diaper wearing house duck WINTER IS A MOMMA!!! :love

All 7 of 7 ducklings hatched between 12 this afternoon and 6 this evening! And, Winter is perfect with them!

Pictures to come tomorrow! :ya :weee :celebrate

AWESOME!! Congrats, and plz tell Winter that she did an amazing job and that she's the mostest adorbs birdie ever. <3

Yay!! My muscovy hen has finally started laying! I am so very tempted to try and hatch them, but I dont't know if they are pure. She spends most of her time with one particular blue muscovy drake. However, they free range with the rest of the backyard avian zoo (lol). And, I recently caught a very promiscuous Cayouga drake "entangled" with the muscovy hen. So, there is a possibility of hatching a mule duck.

My first hatching experiment has been a good learning experiance for me. Out of my 12 CCL shipped eggs 3 were broken 2 were stinkers 6 were clear and the last 1 quit sometime after day 7. But 2 of my EE are doing just fine, loved seeing them stretching their little feet! I think I may be addicted as I have more shipped eggs resting before they go in incubator #2!

I had a similar question about my girl. I only knew that Pekin and Muscovy couldn't mix. I didn't know about Cuyugas.

You are certainly dealing well! Good luck on your EE and next batch!

mine thought me getting 14 ducks was nuts. LOL

He doesn't blink twice about the chickens, but the ducks, apparently 14 was too many???? LOL

My husband doesn't usually say anything. But he did think we might have too many when he asked me how many birds we had and I couldn't answer. I knew how many was in each pen, the brooder and the incubator. But, I didn't know the total.
