HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

I got Sid (blue silkie) & Stella (white silkie) three months ago this Monday as day old babies. Unfortunately, at about 6 weeks old Sid went missing and we never found him

Then I got Sye (splash silkie) at 6 weeks old for Stella. I put them together immediately, unaware their size difference due to their age difference (3 weeks) would pose a problem. Needless to say, Sye died the next day. I'm not sure how

This Sunday I'm getting another day old baby to raise and once it's the same size as Stella, I will put it with her. It will either be a blue or splash

That's weird, my white silkie adopted a baby after her mate died, and we had no issues. I am not sure i'd blame stella, and maybe blame something else unrelated especially with no pecking or wounds present.

Well, I think Stella is actually a Roo. I'm definitely not blaming 'her' though, I just realize it's a possibility that 'she' did it and not even knowing any better. There weren't any pecking wounds present. Sye could've been sick. I will never know what happened to Sye or with Sid, rest their sweet little souls. I'm very much so looking forward to getting Stella a new mate on Sunday this weekend. Love my sweet Stella

I got this really weird egg from one of my CCL girls today. It looks like it has a little chimney! Since I'm collecting their eggs for incubation, I'm going to try to hatch it. I sealed the top of the chimney with clear nail polish, just in case it isn't solid. If i get a chick from it, I'm going to have to come up with some kind of clever name.

That is absolutely peculiar... good luck!

How strange. Is the weird part on the air cell side or the pointy side?

I have babies :weee Or one baby when I left for work and another pipped that I expect will be out when I get home. The first one can't be used for breeding, which is a bummer because it was from another breeder's lines and it would have been nice to be able to use it, but hopefully the other one will be nice and dark :fl

:hit :hit

They are alone in the room. Alone; waiting for their fate. They are slated to be murdered by a hungry giant for their delicate flesh. Nobody cares about seven wet, cold, terrified ducklings. They wait. Just wait; for all else is useless. Waiting in the near pitch-dark. Waiting to be plucked, roasted, and canned. One closes her big baby eyes, slowly, then jerks awake, as if any display of weakness would hasten their demise. Death seemed unavoidable... Unless there was one, just one, who cared?

Won't you be "the one?"
