HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

Got a great Halloween hatch with my homemade incubator. Had started with 7 peafowl eggs and 44 chicken eggs 3 weeks ago, got rid of the 7 peafowl eggs after 14 days of incubation for being unfertiled. I also candled the chicken eggs and 41 were fertile and developing out of the 44. Yesterday on day 20 they started hatching and by this morning the bators was packed with buffy butts. I just removed them and 40 out of the 41 remaining hatched!!!
Congratulations on a great hatch!

Sorry about the infertile peafowl.

Quote: I got so excited when hubby pointed them out that I scared them and they all ran back under cover.

They're so itty, bitty little things. Maybe from a dwarf netherland/hotot female.
I WILL get pics. Eventually. I hope. Maybe today.
We have a boy pen and a girl pen.
They may (or may not) have decided to dig under their enclosures when we were combining.

I didn't think they'd raise a litter so late in the year. Surprise!

She might be the mom.

Domestic bunnies. @DwayneNLiz
I missed quoting you somehow.
No one needs button quail, but they are cute little dickens.
Good luck with the bunnies!

Fluffy butts!!!!

I forgot to add my update. I candled last night.
Guinea eggs are out of the running. Kinda relieved, I have enough already.
And they're fighting my new rooster.

I only saw one button quail egg that may have something in it outta 7.

Didn't candle the rest. Time will tell. Very, very soon...lol.
Down to 23 chicky eggs in the 'bator but some are in the process of dying. I do find that part sad.
I'm guessing I'll end up with about 10 maybe which reduces my stress level greatly. Whew!

Sorry about the guineasI hope you get some button quail, and enough chicks.

Day 20. Heard a peep. Saw a wriggle. Makes me smile.
Wonderful!

Just started day 28 with my 6 Fawn and White Indian Runners! Lots of rocking and chirping, so hopefully a few will pip overnight.
Good luck!

There's at least 4 more...but they're very camera shy.
They have more spots. And eyeliner.

Awwwww

Rabbits are actually more likely to attract rats than push them back, you are going to want to be VERY careful with those babies around them, I had an entire litter savaged by rats when the neighbours got rid of their birds, and they ran out of food there...

Had to make an emergency air hole for the last viable chick. 24 hours since first hatch was completed, and the chick has been banging away at the shell for the last 12 hours and still hadn't managed anything. Hopefully it will manage to finish hatching on it's own.
