HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

:love ....cuties in black. :th

So you keep you're bunny in the coop? I had thought of doing that...but ended up with too many rabbits to do it.
You bunny sounds like ours...lol. Have you had any issues arise from her being with the chickens?

Nope. None so far... only one funny thing, i had a rabbit waterer in there for the rabbit, and a chicken. Nipple waterer in there. Well the rabbit decided the chickens water was better and just drank out of that and the chickens drank the rabbits water. I just took the rabbit water out because if the rabbit was drinking out of the chicken one so its easier to fill one than 2!

Yes, the person I bought from was good to explain how they were hatching, they were getting over 80% NN's.  So, I do realize that I could end up with all 6 being non NN.   The photos of the ones they showed were darling...nice big bow ties..which I love.  So, I now have another pip.  :fl   I'll see if I can get a photo of their babies.

Friend has the NN SG. I don't think he gets that high of a percentage of NN

The last chick had to be helped out. The membrane had glued the chick's head to the side of the shell. No wonder it couldn't even pip. About 5 minutes after hatch, it pulled it's intestines out. No hope of saving it. And I found the little sexlink boy dead this morning. He never did get his legs under him properly, and there were likely other unseen issues.

I know it's early but I figured I would share the hatch just this morning I moved 6 Ayam cemani and 2 Hmong chickens. Anyone not familiar with them they are a fibromelanistic bird meaning all black mouths feet skin meat bones and organs. The svart honas I have didn't hatch. But have no fear I am on a weekly hatch now. They are all black to how scary for Halloween.

These r my non breeder svart hona rooster with diff age groups. Please do check out my forum I dedicated to my grandfather as there is a lot of birds and great info. Called building paradise for the birds
