Halloween Hatch Along - Setting Oct. 10th

My duck eggs are doing well. Had to move them to a broody due to an egg emergency. Poor girl has been sitting for 3 weeks and will have to sit another three more before anything hatches (took away her eggs in favor of a different line of eggs, those are all infertile at candling on day 15

, now she has two of her sisters eggs and they are on day 6)

Well, I didn't win the eggs I wanted. But I did set some duck eggs last week that will be due on November 1st, so pretty close to everyone else.

I set eggs tonight. First time for me, trying out my brand new incubator that I got for my birthday, and I'm starting with fertile eggs from Trader Joe's. We'll see how it goes... They were older than I was hoping for, so I might go back tomorrow and look for fresher eggs and add them in.

I don't think my eggs will make it in time to hatch with everyone else. That's probably good though since I still have 4 eggs in the incubator that haven't hatched yet. lol

I checked one random chicken and one turkey egg from my set 5 days ago. chicken egg for sure has veining. turkey i think is infertile. Recheck some when i set the next ones on the 10th. the egg pile shall grow by then im sure lol

LOL, even when planned, it's hard to set just on the right date! Hopefully, mine will be within one day

LOL ikr. my box will be packed full, and im picking up a new project tonight to convert to an even bigger incubator

I just did that!

I now have two 'bators going an haven't even finished my first coop! I think I'm nuts!

I like the new bator though, it holds a really steady temperature, and I thought it would be worse as it's bigger, but I do have 3 fans blowing in there, which seems to help a lot. I'm expecting 18 eggs Wednesday or Thursday!!

Really hope they hatch! Really hope the two serama eggs in my bator hatch as well!
