I have two lavenders! The second to hatch was a surprise. I didn't even see this one had pipped. Must have been where I couldn't see it, or it just pipped and zipped just like that..some do. I went in just in time to watch it hatch. It looked dark in the zipped shell, but when it popped out, I saw that silver color. Now I have two more pipped. Two that haven't, that I can see. I'm pretty sure I will get at least four, no reason that the two pipped shouldn't hatch right? I'm counting my chicks before they hatch!

Awesome!!! How exciting! And you go ahead and count those chicks before they hatch. I'm okay with that. Keep us posted!

Three lavenders, and two more two more pipped, that means they all have pipped...but one. Pipped and hatched..oh I can't even do the easy math I'm so excited, the more lavender I see, the bigger the chance of getting a pullet.

I am going to post pictures when they all hatch, one more to go..looks like it will make it. I have 4..yes, I said 4 lavenders.

I went ahead and opened one that I just had a feeling about, and sure enough, it was dead. We never know why, only that things didn't look right where the yolk absorbs, won't get into details, but I know what that's supposed to look like. Poor baby, I feel bad when they make it that far, then don't make it to hatching. This one was also lavender. I went back to the ad that I bought the eggs from to see if I had read that right..yes, split meaning I could get either lavender or black, the black carrying the lavender gene.
I have one that pipped a tiny bit this morning, and now it has a much larger pip. Wriggling and all.

The last one of all, taking it's time. They are soooo cute. Pretty actually.
How is Beeker?
