For creative writing, we're on to children's stories. We were supposed to write one that had a Halloween theme.
So I wrote mine about my chickens.

Country girl in the city, I know.
So please, read and tell me what you think!
By the way- Lucy is short for Lucifer... He was a hen, but now he's not... and my dad named him... So...
Ok. I'll stop wasting your time now.

Story-

Halloween is coming, and all through the coop,
Not a chicken was stirring, not even the poop.
Darkness still covers the morning and trees,
for nothing has woken, not even the bees.
Grinning pumpkins litter the front porch,
and nothing lit the night, not even the flickering torch.

"Morning is coming!" Thought Lucy, the roo.
So out he stepped, and went, "COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!!!"
"Today is Halloween!" He cried.
"Hens, Hens! You must come outside!"

Yawning and stretching, out they came.
But then one said, "Halloween is lame."
Grumpy they were for no obvious reason,
"You hate halloween?" Asked Lucy, "Why, this is treason!"

"Oh Lucy!" They said, "We love Halloween."
"But we don't have your black feather sheen!
No, we're not creatures of the night,
The dark night gives us quite the fright!"

Then they waited for late evening,
Before across the yard they took wing.
All were dressed quite oddly,
Some would call it shoddy.

For, Cleo was a bat.
And Rhonda was a cat.
Dora was Indiana Jones,
and Ginger was a skeleton of bones.

Luna was a star
and Lily was a car.
Tejas was a shovel,
and Lucy was a devil.

They first started with the bees,
shouting, "Trick or Treat, please!"
This went on and on, for to every house they went,
till', of course, their night was quite well spent.

When they were back in the coop, all safe and sound,
Lucy asked his hens while on his roost, he turned around,
"Ladies, I ask, did you enjoy yourselves?
We saw all sorts of creatures, trolls, dragons, elves!

Me? Why I thought it was a great night!
But I would never have you go if it were to cause a fight."
They replied , "Oh lucy, we had great fun!
No night could be better than this, No, absolutely none!"

"Wonderful!" Replied Lucy, and so then to sleep he fell.
Sleeping calm and deep, waiting for the early morning bell.
Now that they'd tried it, these hens loved Halloween!
And the future holds new costumes that are yet to be seen!

And the sweet boy in question (ignore the weird one ruining the frame)-
