Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Same for this one.

Very close!
I only saw one twin pushing on it, the other seems to be resting I guess. I just hope they can come out on their own because I know nothing about helping. I've read about it but it still makes me nervous to have to do it. I've seen some bleed bad in videos and posts, it breaks my heart.

I bet they won't pip until late just because I'm anxiously awaiting. I already have the brooder light on to make sure it stays at the correct temp, only think I haven't done is the waterer, I'll wait till Halloween afternoon.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry!! I say it all the time because I want to assure people that if you don’t overthink it, it’s not stressful. Ready?
Duckling was 20 mos when she did an assist. It was shrink wrapped, and too weak to push out once she moistened the membrane. If I had pipped the shell, she still could have done the rest. What surprises me is that she knew something was wrong with the egg even though I didn’t see it.

I set up the brooder last night. I actually had to hunt around for everything, and didn’t think I should wait to find what I needed.

I'm like a new parent :gigi had two boys and I remember how I was days before having them. I hope my chickens go broody so they can stress out... Not me

At least I'm not the only one. All of my first aid stuff is in the cabinet under the sink so I can get it easily.

What first aid stuff do you have on hand?
Get some corn starch handy to help stop bleeding in case you help.
I don't think I've ever seen twins hatch on their own.
You will have to guess when the right time to start helping is.
Too early and it ends bad.
Too late and it ends bad.

I am glad I am not you today.

When should I wait till? They're only 19 days today tomorrow is day 20. Do I just wait until day 21 then help.

Their egg is rocking like crazy!
