Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

I saw your fish yesterday! I want goldfish in my duck pond we are building but I think they'll eat them unless I get big koi...

get a piece of paper and write down everything that you need to do with your animals and then pick certain days to do what you need to do with them and just continue to do it... It will become a daily routine for you, believe me I slacked so bad for years. I'm not sure if it was because I was lazy or just because I hate doing chores, but I realize if I want to keep animals, I need to keep them healthy. not that any of my animals weren't healthy, but slacking on chores with them can make them unhealthy.

I have a massive fish tank that I don't do a ton of maintenance on because it basically maintains itself. I clean it once a month usually, but tank cleaners do their job quite well. I'll take a pic of my tank in a sec.

I've had my angel fish for 5 years, I got it when I first moved in with my husband.
I've been telling her for years to make a list.
The one time she did it she got things done.
She refuses to listen to me.:barnie
I hope she listens to you.:fl

I need to make a list for everything, not just the animals. :lau

And yeah, I’ve been slacking on a lot

With my chickens I have a 5 gallon bucket for water and a large feeder too so they can technically go days without being checked.

But I am lazy or something and sometimes take full advantage of that.

But I’ve been trying to check them daily lately or at least collect the eggs daily.

The fish I need to make it a priority. Maybe put something on the door so I remember haha

And the cat I feed her every day and give her water and love and everything daily but I don’t change her litter box and my dad usually does

I’m gonna start doing it myself.

It’s weird cause I used to LOVE visiting the chickens and talking to them and stuff and now it’s kind of a chore

I still LOVE it once I get out there but it’s the dragging myself out there part.

But then again some days I don’t even go outside.

I really need to work harder to change hah

I used to want a tropical tank with platy and stuff but I think the maintenance is too much so I think I’ll just move the goldfish to the pond in the spring (and yes a bigger tank in the meantime) and be done with inside fish haha

You should get some! Maybe get some feeders and grow them out inside before moving them? So it wouldn’t be expensive buying big ones?

I’m sorry.

For the record though, I’m not refusing to listen on purpose though and do respect/like you and your advice and everyone else’s too. Really. I just.... idk tend to get lazy and/or forget and/or go back to my old ways within a couple days or less

I do it with everything too, not just you. Even things I come up with on my own. Like for example I’m always saying I want to start reading or walking and never do.

But also some days lately I literally just go back to bed and sit/lay there in the middle of the day.

:lau I doubt it. My kids don't even listen to me, but they're boys and my oldest is taller than me so he doesn't have to listen I guess.

:lau

It's fake... My husband got it for our lizards tank, but I put it in the fish tank weeks ago because my bubbler busted so I made this into one.

Awesome!!!

We have a real deer skill we found and bleached, but I don't know where it is :idunnoI have a deer head trophy in my closet that my husband's dad shot that scares me when I go in my closet :lau

:lau those things scare me too.

Anyone have a link for where I can find quail feed in my area... I can't even find turkey feed. All I can find is Nutrena Meatbird feed which says it's good for turkeys all ages and other birds. Maybe I'm just blind when I walk in the store, but I pulled out over 15 bags and this was the only one I found. This is what my chicks are eating.

Around here I don’t think they sell it. :(

Or at least our TSC doesn’t but they might have it at a smaller/local feed store if you have any?

I think you could also order it online and/or have it shipped to the store.

I think it would be called game bird feed though. Or turkey food maybe. I think some people also feed Purina Flockraiser but I think that’s to adult birds? I think it’s too low protein for growing them but idk.
