Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

My barred rocks eggs aren't fertile so I'm going to have to pull them in a few days, it's hard to tell her eggs from my Delaware though... That's why I'm waiting so long so I can make sure I don't toss the wrong eggs.

My barred rock is a fiesty one, my roosters probably want nothing to do with her. She's obnoxiously talkative, they probably don't want a nagging baby mama :gig

She even steals the limelight in pictures

Anyone know what breed bantam that black/white hen & rooster are in my photos? She's a broody queen!!!

When she lays eggs she's so loud the neighbor's kids tell her to shut up... She just gets louder and louder. I'm afraid her chicks would drive me bonkers
My rooster cackles when the hens lay their eggs, and starts his bantam crowing at 0-dark:30, literally at 0300 every day!

Eggs do better when placed in the incubator instead of thrown.

I have a sister that isn’t allowed to use glass glasses. When I asked for a glass set for my birthday, I specified it had to be her proof because of Duckling. Of course I still had to keep plastic cups for my sister.
 I already have them in the incubator, they don't seem like they're fertile. I'll give them 3 more days and then I'm throwing them.

I'm in the country in an agricultural zone. I think chickens are better than hearing all the other neighbors dogs bark. Someone 20 acres away has hunting dogs, they're so loud.

That’s awesome!! And OMG you can hear it that far away!? :th

But yes as much as I love dogs, barking dogs are the worst! Lol a few barks here or there is fine, dogs bark, it’s how it is, but I hate when it’s constant, incessant, all the time or over nothing or when it’s also mixed with howling and baying lol

I absolutely love the way these eggs look and it makes me want to get some! I cannot wait to see them.
I'll post photos throughout the hatch, I'm hoping for a nice variety! One is a blue egg, another is very light with tiny specks, not to mention the holstein patterned ones.
