Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Pics
I just checked on my twin egg... There are so many veins!!! By the way, red sex link eggs suck to candle, I can see no veins but there is growth. I hate brown eggs! The twin egg is a light cream egg so I can see everything. Both are growing at the same rate from what I can see! I'm keeping a close eye on this egg.

The egg is an extra large egg so maybe they have a chance of both surviving :fl
Did you take any pictures?

I should have my husband hold it on day 7 when I candle because his hands are massive! When I say that this egg is extra large, it's probably three times the size of her normal egg. It's from my Delaware. It's so hard to candle

This one is a mini cabinet out of a cooler. I don't have the racks in yet. There are a few links in there to good info sources.

It's partway down.
Thank you for sharing that, I have a mini fridge that my parents bought me about 6 years ago and it quit working so I'm thinking about gutting it and using that. I think it'll work but I hope I can somehow cut into the door and put a window or put on a glass door on it so I can see inside.

But again, that takes all the FUN out of it! And who wants to chance having a "watery mass" burst inside their 'bator ... especially when the alternative is to "test run" a few egglets?
Then again, ... I guess I could see the logic of running the beast with a couple of sturdy water balloons in it ... but ZHEESH ... that sounds BORING! :D

Yes! Agreed!! She needs to set real eggs.

It's a yucky, foggy day here, today, but I'll see what I can get. I do want to get one of her with my bantams, if only to show the kindergartners how well their "baby is doing, now ... and how big she's gotten! I think a classroom visit is in order ...

That is an excellent idea!! :love

Wow that’s awesome!!! People have hatched twins successfully before so it is possible and with an extra large egg I think they stand an even better chance!!

Maybe it’s a sign!! She wanted you to set it and hatch her twins. :lau

Has anyone ever used Pedialyte for chicks or chickens?

I found a really good deal on Pedialyte yesterday (only $1) so I bought some thinking that it would be a good electrolyte for chickens and the dogs if they ever need it.

It is very useful and I think people have used it for both quail and dogs so I think it’s a good thing to have on hand. Especially at that price lol that said, I think if they have a non colored or dyed one that would probably be best. I don’t know if pedialyte makes one. But I’m sure there will be a use for it.

The fridge is just sitting out by our shed not being used so if I gut it and cleaned it out, I definitely think I could use it. It's a really nice fridge It just stopped working one day.

The Pedialyte is orange flavor, I just couldn't pass up the deal. I'm a bargain shopper, anywhere I can save I do.

The egg is ginormous :gigShe laid it after I gave them homemade macaroni and cheese. I may call one of them noodle just because it's their favorite treats. I can't name one cheese because my ducks named that. Hopefully they keep developing because how crazy would it be that on my first incubation I hatch twins

It sounds perfect!!! Although it seems chicken math is already hitting you :lau

I’m sure it will be fine!! Now that I think about it, I think sav a chick electrolyte mixes is dyed too. Idk with what but it’s orange.

But yessss I love a deal!!!

Guess the macaroni was super nutritious!! Or maybe she was saying thank you for the yummy treat!! :lau

And aww cute names!!

And OMG yes that would be crazy but awesome!!
