Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

:lau:lau:lau my husband says I have a coupon code for everything.

I'm only keeping 2 chicks, hopefully pullets. Husband did say if there was a rooster I like, he will put 2 pullets in my layers flock and put the rooster and 2 other pullets in their own fenced in area... He amazing but I think he does whatever makes me happy.

That’s smart though!!! Have you ever seen any of those extreme couponer shows!? :lau

And awwww that is so sweet!!!

The fridge is just sitting out by our shed not being used so if I gut it and cleaned it out, I definitely think I could use it. It's a really nice fridge It just stopped working one day.

The Pedialyte is orange flavor, I just couldn't pass up the deal. I'm a bargain shopper, anywhere I can save I do.

The egg is ginormous :gigShe laid it after I gave them homemade macaroni and cheese. I may call one of them noodle just because it's their favorite treats. I can't name one cheese because my ducks named that. Hopefully they keep developing because how crazy would it be that on my first incubation I hatch twins
I saw in a thread somewhere where someone used a picture frame with glass in it attached to the door of their homemade bator. Sounded like an excellent idea for the viewing window.

THAT's the way to do it ... jump right in and start hatching! Welcome Aboard!
I've had my own BYC eggs hatch out in my bator, had some set in & hatch out in my brother's bator, had an excellent bobwhite hatching a few weeks ago & am during lockdown right now with my Coturnix. Currently watching the "egg wobble" stage of hatch out!!! Have 30 eggs of multiple coturnix varieties, it'll be a surprise.

I absolutely love the way these eggs look and it makes me want to get some! I cannot wait to see them.

Was just looking at this one. All the nifty bells and whistles. Does the egg candler work well?
Here is the candler and the incubator. Buy a hygrometer and a thermometer so you can make sure everything is accurate. Never trust the incubators readings. This is the first time using mine...

Don't mind my bruised wrist. I was making a chicken shaw and tripped on a piece of wood. My wrist is what I landed on, but I did get my chicken shaw frame done.

The candler works great. I have cream, pink, and brown eggs. The brown eggs are the hardest to see anything, but that's because they're brown eggs.
