Ham, smoked picnic, need help!!!!

Do you want a recipe for the whole ham or recipes that include ham? If you cook it whole don't cook to long or it will dry out. When your done with it dont forget to save the bone for navy bean soup.

My favorite way to cook a picnic ham is to put it in a pot with a couple of inches of water and covering it with a tight lid-bring the water to a boil and let it cook till done (depends on how big your ham is) usually around 1 to 2 hours on medium low. Remove the ham from the pot and add more water to the pot, then add some onions quartered up and some carrots cut up and some black pepper-cook awhile, then add some quartered potatos and sometime I add some cabbage. Cook all that till done, trim and slice up the ham and serve. Delicious!! If its a very large ham, I usually have it cut in half and freeze half for another time.
