Hamburg thread!

Pics
My Hamburg is quiet. He can crow- I have heard him- but its not often. "John Boy" is glossy, happy, healthy, hungry, gentle- and quiet. I don't know how he compares to other breeds- but my guy is quiet.

I agree, my Roo is quiet aswell..I only hear him when he is in a crow off with my SLW roo. Other than that I dont ever hear him!

Flower
I have got one as a "free rare chicken" and I love her!!! She's simply lovely.

Her spangling is so clear it's amazing I got her for free. Her temperament is amazing too. She's much more social than my other hens.

My ssh bantam roo crows a lot! He is exclusively free range, I don't know if that makes a difference.

Sorry flower here's a better picture.

Here are pictures of my flock and she's in there as well.
She looks a little haggard but she is free-range and not used in shows.

bhj123 thanks for the pictures. Your flock looks very healthy and they sure have a nice field for roaming. The barred rocks are very nice but you need more SSH. It looks as if she get pecked since her tail is a mess. Honestly, I might be wrong but it seems that if one of them is different, that is the one that get piced on. Were you birds just about six to seven months in the pictures ?

The BRs were only four months but the BA, BO, and the SSH are over a year old. And those last three lay VERY well. I was really surprised to see that the SSH laid so well.
Way ahead of you flower ;)
I bought some more SSHs two months ago. And I haven't introduced them to the flock yet. They're still little babies.
