Handling Chickens Too Much?

If done properly no ill effects. I think you mean in regards to resulting temperament. When handling I try to make so birds perch on you. When you want a more controlling contact avoid striking or touching birds on back or head.

I am touching a bird two sessions a day to get him tamed for later. Some of handling must be done so as not to promote aggression or the appearance of pecking order.

I highly doubt it. The more handling you do with them, the tamer they'll be when they are full grown. As ViolinPlayer123 said, as long as they don't seem stressed, it'll be fine. Hope this helps! :)

Hi, I have three chickens that are for 4h, and I pick them up a lot. Can you handle them too much?

Personally, I think that as long as you put them down when they are showing you that they don't want to be held, then you're fine. When they are very young though, it is recommended that you don't handle them a ton for their first week of life because their immune system is developing and it can be stressful having some giant hand connected to an even bigger body come swooping you up.

I hold my chickens whenever I can catch them or they come over to me, and don't put them down unless they start to try and fly away or get moody.
