Handmade driftwood “jungle gym” for the chooks

I have looked up so many ideas on pinterest for something the chooks can climb. There wasn’t a lot of variety but mostly people nail planks to tree trunks or have outdoor deck chairs available or build something. we have only just planted baby trees, and hubby doesn’t have time right now to build me a huge contraption so I went to the beach and grabbed some driftwood! Here is my efforts:

My question, though, is - will our chickens sit on this during the day or is perching only for night time?? haha.

Any ideas on what i could add to it?

Mine perch during the day. Not all day but on and off. They all gather before dusk and chill til bedtime on the perches in the run also. I think that looks like a fun idea! Great to give them things to do!

You might add a flat or platform of small feed dish (secured) to encourage them to give it a try if they are apprehensive.

I think they will like it. They love to have something to sit on. Mine have a crooked log in the run that they perch on all the time.

We didn't actually get this FOR the chickens, but they sure do like it! That's Littlejohn on top, showing off for his lady love. There's also a picnic table they approve of that gives them a good view of their domain. They're not picky, lol!

I have my driftwood just piled up and they love to hunt bugs in the cracks and spaces
