Hands down, what is a chickens FAVORITE food/treat/scraps?

Hands down, MEALWORMS.


Our hens also really love multi-grain hot cereal, served warm. The hot cereal is especially well loved when it has cereal moths in it. So it works out well for all of us, since that's the only time they get it!

Left over meat of any kind is also especially enjoyed.

My birds love grapes, pork fried rice and chocolate cake.

So far, the hands-down favorite in the coop is my homemade mac and cheese. But then, who can resist my mac and cheese?!

The least favorite? So far... granny smith apple peels.

My old flock loved just about any leftovers I gave them. Their fave leftovers were probably spaghetti (with sauce), rice, popcorn, bread, veggie peels. They also got the bruised or buggy stuff from the garden: they loved watermelon and cantaloupe (ate everything except the outside rinds), any beans the deer left, and went bonkers for tomatoes. The only things they didn't like were bell peppers and cukes.

I just got my new flock Thursday night. I have to see if they are picky or not

Tomatoes. They eat all the red ones in the garden if I am not vigilant and if there are no red ones they will start in on the green ones. They will even fly/jump up to get the ones out of their reach.

When I let my henhouse ones go around in the yard they eat cat food.

1) Worms (the juicier the better)
2) Any leafy green
3) Cooked leftover rice
4) Cantelope guts (they really go crazy for the seeds).

Mine love most things....oatmeal, pasta, mac and cheese, lettuce, tomatoes most fresh veggies...not crazy about large pieces of carrots, shredded are okay, they get bored with too much bread.
