Hands on hatching and help

Good luck!!! I just ordered some Lav Orp and Lav Ameraucana eggs from @bargain. Can't wait to get them in the bator!!

Just set 19 shipped Serama eggs

And checked my 6 bantam cochin eggs on day 11. Looking excellent!

I'm getting ready to candle and set these babies you sent me home with.. Emilie was texting her friend on the way home and told her what all we got..her friends mom was trying to buy them before we hit the interstate. ..lol.. she's SOL ..
I did come home to 1 of the small end pips hatched and another..both jubilee ♡
Serious issues with these eggs
A ton were pipped internally and dead..managed to put air holes in for 3 or 4 others before they suffocated.. don't have the highest of hopes, but I'll baby them thru if need be..I really want a few jubilees out of this group..
But just wanted to say thanks again.. little miss is settled in great ♡ She's in the "special chicks" brooder in my bedroom..came in and took over right off the bat.. her and the little polish are top dogs now..also both the smallest..lol.

Don't think rain is my issue..I incubate dry and have been hatching almost dry because of rain..they were either super old eggs or the breeders aren't getting the right feeds and vitamins... If I had to guess, I'd say it's a feed/nutritional issue.. bc my eggs that I set with every hatch just for a control are doing fine.

Bummer on the current hatch, but I bet you are right. I hope you have room to experiment with some of those older lav eggs, just for curiosity. They hatch so well for me and seem to be very flexible to varying conditions. More so than anything else I've ever hatched. But I always hatch new, clean ones. And you could have shared them! Lol

She can have my leftovers..lol.. she only has one incu and is trying to incubate goose eggs right now so probably wouldn't have been a good end result anyways.. I hooked her up with some of the chicks I went after a couple weeks ago and she got the jubilee and blues from the last hatch I did. .promise I share the wealth ♡♡

Emilie did really good I think..she traded 2 chicks for the 2nd bunny.. she has been wanting to get a girl so she could breed and have something to take to the swaps.. I'll think she'll do great once she gets babies (and if her black male is any indication, that should be soon bc he got right down to business within seconds..lol..)
I'm candling and rearranging eggs now.. moving a few that are on day 17 to the hatcher so I can fit them all in..they will all get set one way or another..
I've gotta take a pic of some of these air cells..2 different breeds, at least 3 eggs so far..these are my eggs, set within 5 days of being gathered.. I know they're fed well and they're not pullet eggs or anything.. I just marked my turner, bc thinking maybe it's not working?!?!
Dunno what else it could be. .I've never seen an air cell like this, even in horrible shipped eggs!!

I know it super hard to see. Sorry..hard to balance an egg and phone in one hand and phone for camera in the other. .
But reminds me of a rolling air cell, but it's not.. they're my eggs so I didn't bother checking them when i set them..but the cells are on the side of the egg..like if the egg was on its side, then the cell would be on 'top'..
It's insane. .2 are my WCB bantam polish and 1 is my blue mutt banty

Is it possible that you didn't find those eggs for a few days? Maybe it laid on its side for a few days right after being laid?

And good luck with the bunnies... He's just showing her how they get their reputation... Bwahahaha

I have one that should hatched Wednesday under a broody. She ate the hatchmate, so I took this one out and put it in the incubator. It had pipped internally but was shrink wrapped pretty bad. I eventually helped it hatch this morning. It still had yolk to absorb, which it did. Now I'm noticing it hasn't opened the eyes. I'm sure of the hatch date, but this chick seems to have either quit and was about to die or the constricted area kept it from developing all the way. 12 hers or so in and it absorbed the yolk but is not really standing and walking either. Just sort of hobbling and falling over exhausted. Any thoughts? I'm pretty certain it is a frizzle too if that means anything.

Purina flock all grower feed crumble/ turkey layer crumble worms grits oatmeal kale tomatoes cucumber squash yellow Mexican squash peas corn green beans cooked zucchini celery grits from grocery store.oatmeal.-parsley on occasion.scratch grain poultry grit. They will not eat anything else. I can barley get them to eat these. Two more eggs lost. One had a little bit of life in it very small with blood . And yolk. Other yolk.
