The one egg has the shell completely zipped, but its been like that all day (about 12 hours now). If I'm understanding you correctly, I should remove the shell completely from the top portion of the zip. What about the membrane underneath? What about the other egg that has just had a pip for over 15 hours now? Should I leave that one alone or should I help with the unzipping? Sorry to ask so many questions, this is my first hatch and I'd hate to have chicks die in their eggs when they are still alive.If it's truely started zipping itself I would finish the zip and take the cap off and either put it back under momma like that or free it from the shell and stick the chick back under momma. (Providing all the veining is retracted and tolk absorbed of course.)
