Hands on hatching and help

Most are bantam eggs. So they need more humidity?

Yes, they look like the air cells were on the big side when you got them and grew a good amount on top of that In the first week. By increasing your humidity you want to slow down the growth. Increase your humidity and keep a close eye on how fast they continue to grow. If they are still growing pretty fast you may need to increase it even higher. I would definitely monitor them closely.

Hey I know it's early yet but how and when can you start sexing the cemani's? I figure it's going to be difficult with the all black combs... :)

Believe it or not I can usually do it at four or five weeks - the males' combs start to grow a little at that time and females' combs don't. But it helps to have a bunch to compare to each other, it might be tricky with only three.

I'll probably be sending you pics around that time lol. I'm a little curious if the roosters have bigger legs like other roosters? Out of the 3 I noticed one of them has pretty thick legs. Wondering if it's a roo lol.. :)

Was gonna say, I had a really good guess early with mine, and my guesses turn out correct... the black comb doesn't really make a difference, the boys combs pop up bigger quite fast...

For heaven's sake. I spent a good amount of money on some lavender/black silkie eggs to add to my lavenders for next year, and the seller's location was set as New Jersey, which was great, because the eggs didn't have to travel far to get to me. These are the last shipped eggs I'm going to do for the year (unless I come across sultans unrelated to the ones I have, which is doubtful) so I thought a short journey and easier eggs would be nice.

Except they shipped them and tracking says they're coming from Alabama :barnie Why say New Jersey if they're shipping from Alabama? I've messaged the seller about this and am awaiting a response. Now I'm worried that the seller was selling for a friend or something and I don't even know who the eggs are coming from. Can I even be confident the birds pictures are the actual parents? Seriously, this whole thing has me ticked off.
