Hands on hatching and help

@RubyNala97 I thought I had 5 girls and 2 boys. But it's looking more and more like I have 4 girls and 3 boys. Two crowing for sure, and I think that stupid sound I heard this evening was coming from a new crower. And weren't my deviled eggs purty???

Um, you might want to stick to your own recipe - might be much more appealing!

MEGA long multi-quote
Whenever my egg production drops I add "Rooster Booster" (thanks to Ravyn's advice) to the water and I swear it jumps right back up!
K! Lots of :hugs! And you've got LOTS of eggs! Wow!
Great pics! What's your boy:girl ratio? Blooie, you are right...they do still look very young. Another month or two and you'll see them really start maturing.
How are they doing? How many did you get again?
I'm not familiar with the color but seeing as it's a project color there may be variations still..? I'd love to see pics. Also I need some solid blacks. May contact you in spring.
Have a few more and it all starts blurring together!! :lau
Ooohhh. Gonna try this. Bookmarked. But I have to have relish in deviled eggs to eat them (I'm weird). I'll just add that one ingredient and follow the rest to a tee!
Yay!! Has it continued? Mine did this once and I was so excited but then realized it was only that one time. :/
X2!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! You are seriously nuts though!! ;)

Ok, that's how my sister screwed up the deviled eggs the first time- by adding yucky relish! :sick lol
Tonight was the second night in a row they took themselves to their coop!!!

We ended up with 10 but unfortunately lost one that got smothered by the others the first week. Felt awful but no incidents since then thank goodness. We have 9 now and they are all doing great. They are so cute and already twice as fluffy as the ones we got from mpc. :) I know we must be crazy but I'll for sure be getting my tubes tied after this one lmao. :p

Blooie-I didn't even scroll down the recipe page. I just opened the link and bookmarked it. :lau I just went back and I read the whole thing! I should have known! :gig They look mouthwatering! ;)

Believe it or not I'm not an egg person. I can eat quiche or omelets if they have lots of veggies and cheese or deviled eggs with lots of relish, lol but I do not like plain eggs. Go figure. That's why in the very beginning I went with fluffy birds for hatching eggs and not hardy egg layers!

It will be fun to watch them grow out with the mpc ones. I had someone contact me, I forget what state but not nearly as far as Cali, she wanted me to ship chicks, which I haven't started doing yet. She's to scared to try eggs but I thought of you and your hatch!

No, I don't look at the auctions. But thanks for thinking of me...lol. I couldn't right now if I wanted too.

I'm not a big egg eater. I'll do scrambled egg here or there as long as it's dry and has lots of pepper on it. I love boiled yolks and deviled eggs- but traditional, with mustard mayo and no other gunk thrown in...lol

So I have one that hatched last night a bunch more pips another unzipping the early hatcher is wild I'm not opening the bator anytime soon but realistically how long on avg do u leave them

That's a loaded question for this thread. We pull them out whenever we want to.

Personally, I find a good lull in the action and grab them out.

Like WV said, it's pretty much a personal preference. I usually like to pull them out 2 or more at a time. But it also depends on how much trouble they are making inside the incubator. The first usually snuggles up to a pipped egg and goes to sleep, so I'll leave it to keep encouraging the pipped eggs to progress. But if they are rambunctious and playing soccer with the pipped eggs then they come out and go straight into the pre-heated brooder.
