Wow, only 57 hours?Ok, so I set my eggs 10pm Wednesday night. Last night at day 2 I layed the shipped silkie eggs down as the air cells I can see look firm. This morning when I turned (about 57 hours in) I decided to get a good look at the eggs, so I candled. 2 of the silkie eggs are advanced-like a full day's and my bator hasn't been running as overly warm as it usually is. My spitzhaubens -almost all are on track with the first signs of development- ("blood island" on the yolk.) Right on schedule. I don't see anything noticeable in the other 16 silkie eggs, but it's way early yet, so I am going to stay positive- (for a couple more days.)![]()
Here's the one silkie egg I could get a decent pic of the growth:

OK I see why he's not walking now, How is he doing? Clean his navel he's got a lot of gooy nasty stuff, he'll get an infection, then apply some neosprin pain reliever..
The white stuff is his pea, needs to clean him upWhere it was bleeding there is now a white puss thing
Because he's still swelled up down there, clean him up should help.
I wouldnt just yet.Ca little bit am putting it in the brooder soon but trying to corner off a part so it is away from my other ducklings
Did you get those eggs? or what's happening??Ok if any one could help me figure out how to reply and answer for this sight that would be great.. If I can find this after I write it on here!!!!
If it will be the last week, I think you will be OK. you may have a lot of issues with them being upside down or malpositioned but in the long run with some help you should be OK.I have cousins in the area. But none of know anything about hatching. And I do not trust them to understand what I'm saying over the phone. My hubs was transported by ambulance at 4am this morning. So there was no time to arrange anything. Thanks for the thought

60 YOU HAVE 60 BABIES COMING?? OMG, talk about OVERTIME.Did a full candle of all bator eggs (the ducks are sitting on 60+)
All eggs look great. A couple porous ones. Lots of wigglers!!! Even the one under the pigeon doing well.
The live pigeon babies in the bator are keeping humidity around 35 with both vents open. I find humidity in low 30s works best for me. I'm going to candle eggs under duck butts tonight. These are all community nests and there were several nights of temps in the teens before they started sitting.... I'll pull any that show clears.
Once they start to develop your OK to lay them down but that's a choice for you to make, So far they LOOK good, what did you do to get those deattached to show signs of LIFE. I NEED TO KNOWSo here's some pics from last night of my call duck eggs with the terrible air cells. This morning one of them looked extremely saddled but like it may have reattached. I won't pick it up to check because whatever I'm doing seems to be working, so I don't want to handle it. If they keep going till day 12, I'll check them but honestly I'm very scared to lay them down. I'm afraid it will kill them if the air cells are still detached.
