First duckling out!!! All looks good!!!
Ok, so day 14. One more week to go, or about that. The silkie eggs you can hardly see anything in. They are full. The Spitz are coming along nicely. Appears to be pretty much on target. The greens are, well green and can't see anything, but I haven't since day 2 so....Air cells I am happy with for the most part. I am no longer turning except when I candle, so pretty boring here. Even my incubator is holding steady and not giving me any work. The next few days need to hurry by, cause I really want to see these silkies. Thinking we'll be seeing some action by Tuesday morning which will be well into day 19- from the silkies at least.
3 have hatched!!! I'm going to leave them in the bator overnight. 2 more zippers!
Pics tomorrow when I get to work (lousy signal at home)
14 I got 18, 2 were early quitters, like the only development was the "blood island" on the yolk. The other two I thought were no development but when I pulled them one of them looked like it had a faint red mark on the yolk as well so I am saying 1 with no development at all and three that quit as soon as they started almost. The other 14 are looking great. I had to keep my humidity quite a bit higher than I am used to, but I am very happy with the 14 day size of them. How many silkies you got growing??? I have 100%%%%%. I am so excited! ! I can't wait to see what colors you get and what colors I get!!!![]()

Well, just added 3 runners to my hatcher that are about 3 hours into day 27. I threw out 3 more fully formed quitters and have 5 that are soon to be dead that I left in the bator. 2 maybes that are moving but the clear spots are over a third of the egg so they're prob gonna quit too. None of my anconas have pipped, even internally. So mad at myself for being duped by that hygrometer. I knew something was weird when I kept adding water to my bator to try to get the humidity up. I just chalked it up to growing the air sacs too fast and the eggs weren't releasing moisture anymore. At this point I have already killed 9 and have 18 more on the way out that I just havn't called yet. There are maybe 7 all together out of 34 that might have a chance of hatching; however, 4 of those hit 28 days in the morning so thus begins the countdown to tossing them out for being too late.
Somehow though, the one turkey egg that was cracked in the bator is still kicking away and right on track to be stuck in the hatcher in a couple days. Guess that's a silver lining since the turkey hens kicked out all their eggs and are now sitting on guinea eggs from our lone guinea with unfertilized eggs, lol.
Sad update on this pretty yellow chick.. s/he did not make it through the night.
I have one EE that hatched on its own last night and has a big belly and stays on its back kicking its feet. I wonder if anyone has had this issue and how to help this chick? He's got strong lungs and chirping away trying to move around but cant. Advice??
Edited to add chick #2 is doing better is waddling around a little bit .. progress!!
Good luck. Can't wait to see if you luck out and get them to hatch. Once they get late it's nerve racking because you just don't know what is gonna happen..... I am in the same boat as you. Day 29 on my ancona ducks and thought all hope was lost thanks to the bacterial outbreak. Just candled 5 or 6 of them and found that 2 of them are just starting to pip internally. I tapped on their shell and could hear them peeping and nibbling away at the membrane!!! Sure hope we can at least get a few to hatch...... So excited again!!!!
I had a Call take 3 full days after til she was ready to come out, lol... every morn I figured she would be gone, but she fought hard... once she was ready, she popped out and started running around like a maniac... she turned out happy and healthy and is about to hatch her own brood with her best friend...

She is on the left, Lady Grey... and Crash is on the right...
They are Silver Welsh Harlequins. Had 11/12 shipped eggs hatch. The little one was 3 days later than the others. I did a total assist, even the internal pip. No idea what the problem was. All were malpositioned. It has balance issues but is getting better.
I also have week old Runners, black, blue, chocolate and a cream.
