Hands on hatching and help

Mine was dented and warped perched on horns... but I lost it when it didn't come back after throwing it at too many people...
Awesome!! Would love to see the feathers!! As you no doubt noticed, they get all their belly feathers first, then shoulder sprigs, lol...

Red Wigglers can be found anywhere they sell bait and tackle... pet shops usually carry them too... along with mealworms... the little mealworms would be great for him to try too...

Just don't give him too much, too often... too much protein and he could get 'angel wing'...

*sorry for the typos earlier, didn't even see those*

Eating eggs around here are a dime a doz, lol... I don't even bother selling those... our 2 good neighbors I give eggs to...

Although, my OH has a few people he works with that pay $4 per doz...

ETA: btw, AmyL, you've probably seen my OH on that FB page...

You got to tell me who??? lol

My neighbor sells hers for 5$/dozen here.. but that's at a farmers market.. a lady down the road who sells hers from her house asks 2.50
Most CL listings for my area are between $2-3.

So I have an off topic question for you guys, just because I am curious. I joined the BYC FB page a week or so ago and one post a person put up a pic of a sign (from California) Pasture Raised Eggs -$8.00 a dozen, $4.00 1/2 dozen. I'm not dumb enough to know for most of us that's

. But for those who do sell chicken eggs, how much do you sell them for?? I'm doing good to get $2.00 a dozen in these parts. The grocery store is selling at just over a dollar a dozen and people around here would rather pay less for store eggs than even a quarter more for farm fresh. I have 3 regular customers and a couple "sometime" customers.

Farm eggs here are $5/dozen. Store bought free range eggs are closer to $6.

Soo, while I wait for it to get dark enough to candle and check air cells..

Remember the little White Orpington we found "dead" in the run and stuck in the incubator? That's her, Phoenix, just behind Blizzard. Easy to tell a him from a her, ain't it?

And this is Blizzard visiting with Yokel.

The only Cream Legbar to hatch, once known as Sweetie Pie, is now known as "Wilbur". I don't know why - I said it one day and it stuck.

All of the chicks are now fully integrated with the flock - even little Sluf, the Black Australorp that morphed into a Naked Neck during hatching!
