Okay, can you smarter-than-me folks tell anything from this photo or would it be better to do just a couple? Some cells are bigger than others, but I don't think that's a huge deal, is it? Aren't there always some variations?

They look good to me!!! There's only one there that I'd be concerned about and that's the one WildHens mentioned. I always, and I have no idea if it really has any effect, try to put any that I think might be slightly big as far away from my source as humidity as possible.
This is day 15. The air cells were marked yesterday but there was no change tonight so I went with it!What day? Sorry..know u said in earlier post.
It very well could alter the perception. You are so close now, that unless it grew really big in the next three days, I wouldn't be too worried. This is day 15. The air cells were marked yesterday but there was no change tonight so I went with it!I agree about that far lower left left one.....but it's an almost perfectly round egg too, if that makes a difference just appearance wise - kinda like an optical delusion!![]()
@amylynn I'll run in and move that right now before the incubator gets back up to temp. Thanks guys! I feel better!
Parts of California = $$. Store bought around here are $4ish and $6ish organic, I think. I'm going to look on CL and see what people are selling local for.So I have an off topic question for you guys, just because I am curious. I joined the BYC FB page a week or so ago and one post a person put up a pic of a sign (from California) Pasture Raised Eggs -$8.00 a dozen, $4.00 1/2 dozen. I'm not dumb enough to know for most of us that's. But for those who do sell chicken eggs, how much do you sell them for?? I'm doing good to get $2.00 a dozen in these parts. The grocery store is selling at just over a dollar a dozen and people around here would rather pay less for store eggs than even a quarter more for farm fresh. I have 3 regular customers and a couple "sometime" customers.
Yup, he's got his belly feathers and now the wings are starting. At first I kept thinking his chest was wet and not drying...duh! Then I realized it was his feathers! Now just what looks like shoulder blades are starting to come in. My 1 1/2 year old feeds him live mealworms (the small ones) and they both LOVE it. Good to know about the Angel wing though. I did not know that....Thank you!! Now he nibbles on the babies fingers all the time because he's used to him hand feeding him the worms and the baby just cracks up every time!Mine was dented and warped perched on horns... but I lost it when it didn't come back after throwing it at too many people... Awesome!! Would love to see the feathers!! As you no doubt noticed, they get all their belly feathers first, then shoulder sprigs, lol... Red Wigglers can be found anywhere they sell bait and tackle... pet shops usually carry them too... along with mealworms... the little mealworms would be great for him to try too... Just don't give him too much, too often... too much protein and he could get 'angel wing'... *sorry for the typos earlier, didn't even see those* :/ Eating eggs around here are a dime a doz, lol... I don't even bother selling those... our 2 good neighbors I give eggs to... Although, my OH has a few people he works with that pay $4 per doz... ETA: btw, AmyL, you've probably seen my OH on that FB page...![]()
That first pic is a great male/female comparison picture!!Soo, while I wait for it to get dark enough to candle and check air cells.. Remember the little White Orpington we found "dead" in the run and stuck in the incubator? That's her, Phoenix, just behind Blizzard. Easy to tell a him from a her, ain't it?And this is Blizzard visiting with Yokel.
The only Cream Legbar to hatch, once known as Sweetie Pie, is now known as "Wilbur". I don't know why - I said it one day and it stuck.
All of the chicks are now fully integrated with the flock - even little Sluf, the Black Australorp that morphed into a Naked Neck during hatching!
Is something getting to the eggs and breaking them open? Maybe a hen or a predator?Well went out to eggs today to had stuff leaking out. One all yolk and the other one had a little duck in it that had died in the shell it looked like it was very early stage but not as early as the other one I saw. So yes they our fertal just have to figure out why it's premature death.
They look good to me too!Okay, can you smarter-than-me folks tell anything from this photo or would it be better to do just a couple? Some cells are bigger than others, but I don't think that's a huge deal, is it? Aren't there always some variations?![]()
Oh my goodness! I remember that egg!! My son was helping me collect eggs that day and he puts them in the carton, pointy end down and he said "this one doesn't have a pointy end, you figure it out, mom.". And we took a pic of it because it was so round. That's just so funny! This is day 15. The air cells were marked yesterday but there was no change tonight so I went with it!I agree about that far lower left left one.....but it's an almost perfectly round egg too, if that makes a difference just appearance wise - kinda like an optical delusion! @amylynn I'll run in and move that right now before the incubator gets back up to temp.
